James Parker comes from Britain, emigrating to Australia two years ago. He is an adoptee and, having recently met his two birth families, discovered he has eight Muslim brothers and sisters.
His working life has seen him engage with elite sportspeople and, after converting to Catholicism in his mid-20s, engage with the Church across the globe. He has since served at most levels of the Church, including for the Vatican, serving three cardinals in London, chairing More Than Gold, one of the world’s largest ecumenical initiatives which served the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and more recently as the head of media and communications for the Archdiocese of Perth.
As an abuse survivor, and having previously lived and practiced as a gay rights activist, James has a passion for the godly restoration of men and women.
Mary Macuga, CFRE serves as the Director, Resource Development for the Archdiocese of Brisbane. This position oversees the Catholic Foundation, Archdiocesan Communications and The Catholic Leader newspaper.
Mary graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Arizona State University and completed a Master of Arts degree in Philanthropy and Development from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. She is a Certified Gift Planning Associate and a Certified Fund Raising Executive
Mary and her family moved to Brisbane from the United States in 2014. She brings 17 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and consulting for Catholic dioceses and agencies throughout the United States.
Roby Curtis is the founder of Blind Eye Ministries where he works on the frontline in ministry to the homeless and indigenous. His work involves sharing his Catholic faith with those in homeless hostels and in remote Indigenous Communities. He is passionate about young Catholics embracing the poor in their locals communities and seeking to provide opportunities of Church and Christian Community for them. He is also a worship leader and songwriter with emmanuelworship. He is a husband and father of 5 children and his family play a fundamental role in his ministry involvements.
Renee Doyle has over 10 years’ experience in youth ministry both in Australia and overseas. As a personal trainer, speaker and life coach she is passionate about people fulfilling their God-given potential and living their life to the full! Renee and her husband Mark have three very energetic and Gorgeous young children.
Ignite Conference 2015 will be an experience of pursuing One faith and One purpose as part of One Church.
