Archbishop Mark Coleridge is the Archbishop of Brisbane. He is a theologian and teacher especially qualified in the fields of Sacred Scripture and the Church’s liturgical worship.
Bishop Peter Comensoli is Bishop of the Diocese of Broken Bay. He was previously Auxiliary Bishop of Sydney (2011-2014) and a Priest of the Diocese of Wollongong (ordained in 1992). Bishop Peter has undertaken extensive studies in moral theology in Australia and overseas, and also brings with him a broad range of pastoral experiences.
Sister Anastasia Reeves, O.P. is a member of the St Cecilia Dominicans of Nashville, Tennessee. Originally from the South Coast of NSW, Sister Anastasia has recently returned to Australia to teach high school mathematics and Catholic Studies, at Trinity College in Sydney. Prior to her entry into religious life, Sister worked as an engineer, on the Local Committee for World Youth Day Sydney 2008 and for a variety of other Catholic Church agencies, including NET Ministries Australia. She is passionate about the New Evangelisation and encouraging men and women to live in the freedom Christ offers and so to flourish in the vocation to which they are called.
With an on-fire passion for the Faith and for teens, Steve Allgeyer is unlike most youth ministers you will ever meet. As Life Teen’s V.P. of Mission and Ministry, he helps us reach out to thousands of people around the world to let them know about the movement of Life Teen and how it affects families, parishes, culture, and teens. Steve loves hanging out with his family, which includes his beautiful wife, Kristy, and their 7 children. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri and resides just outside of St. Louis in Chesterfield, MO. Steve has been working in youth ministry for 20 years and when he is not leading mission trips to Nicaragua or Haiti, he can often be found enjoying a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game.
Stephen is the events guru for Life Teen! He heads up the coordination of all our domestic and international adult training conferences, retreats and our teen events like Steubenville conferences, LTLC, and the Inspiration Tour. He has found his niche in LifeTeen events because they are big, loud, and prayerful…just like the state of Texas as he puts it. He is a graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville where he studied theology and catechetics and has recently completed his Masters in business administration at the University of Georgia. Before joining the Life Teen staff, he was a youth minister in The Woodlands, TX and at the Cathedral in Atlanta, GA. Stephen loves his beautiful wife Ann, his unborn child, his truck, the state of Texas, Georgia football and watching teens fall in love with scripture!
Fr. Bony Abraham MGL is the first Indian Member of the Missionaries of God’s love Priest and brothers. He is currently serving as the Director of the MGL Mission Centre in Canberra and the St. Benedict’s Youth Hub. He is actively involved in the work of evangelization especially with the Youth in Australia through the ministry of preaching and teaching. He serves as the Chaplain of St. Edmund’s and Merici Colleges in Canberra and as the Spiritual Director to the National Youth Team of Jesus Youth Australia.
Becca is a passionate preacher and conference speaker whose heart for evangelisation has taken her across Australia and to New Zealand, Uganda, Marshall Islands, and most recently Ireland. She is currently living and working in County Donegal as Program Coordinator for NET Ministries Ireland and is loving life. Becca is a member of Emmanuel Community and prior to moving to Ireland had served for many years with emmanuelworship. She loves Jesus and His church, and is passionate about young people having a place and a voice in the Church. After missing Ignite last year, Becca said she’d never miss another one – “My greatest desire is to see and be part of the renewal and revival of the Catholic Church – and one place that is happening is at Ignite – If God is going to be there, I’m going to be there too!”
Mark Doyle is Executive Director of NET Ministries Australia. He has been involved in youth ministry for over a decade on both sides of the world in Canada and Australia. His passion is for helping others reach their full potential. He is currently studying a Masters in Business Administration.
Sr Rosie Drum is a Missionaries of God’s Love sister who grew up in country NSW and once promised God she would go anywhere for him except Sydney. She now lives in Sydney. Sr Rosie has been engaged in youth ministry for fifteen years and finds great joy in leading people closer to Jesus Christ and his Church. She is currently the Assistant Director of Catholic Youth Parramatta and is passionate about empowering and equipping those serving in youth ministry and helping young people find their vocation in life.
Marty Pannell is the Mission Coordinator at Magdalene Catholic High School in the Diocese of Wollongong, where he works on numerous evangelisation and social justice projects. He is a member of the Disciples of Jesus Community in Wollongong. He met the Youth Mission Team in 1986 at the age of 15 as a Year 10 student. This meeting had a profound impact on his life. He attended the first Anchor Weekend run by the Sydney Youth Mission Team and has worked with Youth Mission Team Australia for ten years. He has also worked for the Diocese of Wollongong and has a Degree in Education and a Diploma in Child Psychology. He has been involved in Youth Ministry, Music Ministry, oversees mission trips to Nauru and Kiribati and has lived and worked in Sydney, Hobart, Perth, Melbourne and Wollongong. Marty loves his wife, family, friends, parish, community, job, guitar, veggie patch and Wollongong beaches! He has a passion for life and enjoys any opportunity to share the faith journey with others.
Malcolm Hart is the Director of the Australian Catholic Bishop Conference, Office for Youth. Malcolm implements the Australian Bishops’ national vision for ministry Anointed and Sent, and key national youth evangelisation initiatives World Youth Day, the Australian Catholic Youth Festival, and the Australian Catholic Youth Ministry Convention. In 2014 Malcolm contributed to the national resource ‘Australian Catholic Youth Ministry: Theological and Pastoral Foundations for Faithful Ministry’ exploring the landscape of Catholic youth ministry in Australia. Malcolm has also presented at international WYD meetings in Rome about the impact of WYD in Australia, and key Australian conferences including Proclaim and ACYMC. Malcolm has worked in both rural and urban diocese for over 20 years. He has supported parishes to establish local youth ministry programs, develop key youth leaders, and facilitate youth events. Malcolm has a passion for evangelisation with those young people who have are yet to encounter or experience Jesus in their life.
Sally is the Regional Coordinator of Marist Youth Ministry across Queensland and Northern New South Wales and tells anyone who will listen that she has the best job in the world. She has travelled widely and is passionate about social justice having volunteered in countries such as India, the Philippines and East Timor. As a qualified high school teacher, she is passionate about investing in the needs of young people and loves any opportunity to engage with youth and young adults. Sally has completed studies with both QUT and ACU, and is now embarking on her Masters of Theological Studies through the Broken Bay Institute. She believes that the world is desperately in need of strong role models who lead young people back home into relationship with Jesus and into the Church.
Fr Morgan is the Vocations Director and Canali House for the Archdiocese of Brisbane and Chaplain at the University of Queensland. He also serves as a Chaplain in the Australian Defence Force, with Tours of Duty in the Middle East and Timor. He has been decorated by the US Army and Timor Leste Government and obtained commendations in the Australian Army. Fr Morgan is also a recognised international mountaineer, having climbed on Everest and five of the seven continental summits. His aim is to summit the highest peak of every country and major territory in the world, and has already completed 126 of the 230 peaks.
Teresa McGrath is the Youth Project Consultant for the Archdiocese of Brisbane. Throughout 2014 she conducted a research project to inform the future of youth ministry in the Archdiocese. Her role includes connecting with the existing youth initiatives, listening to those involved actively involved in ministry about their experiences and thoughts, promoting better collaboration and coordination between different ministries, and identifying gaps in the current ministry landscape. Previously she was Ministry Development Officer for NET Ministries Australia. She is also a vocalist for emmanuelworship, and has been involved in youth ministry for over 10 years.
Mark is Campus Ministry Manager at Australian Catholic University. A 21st Century evangelist, Mark is passionate about helping young men and women understand their faith, articulate it and live it in today’s world. He brings experience from the business world, a bachelor degree in social science, postgraduate studies in ministry and over 20 years involvement in Catholic youth ministry. He is also part of the menALIVE Core Team.
Pat Keady is Director of Ignite Youth, and is passionate about Jesus, young people, current culture, the Church and getting them all ‘in the same room’ in 2015. He has been a leader and songwriter with emmanuelworship for 15 years, and author of two books ‘Walk With You: the life-changing story of a young Catholic’ and ‘Worship: the Activity of Disciples’, and co-author of discipleship and leadership resources for young people, including the ‘Follow’ and ‘Rise’ programs in the Ignite Grow series. The vision of Ignite Youth to ‘spearhead a new evangelisation’ is Pat’s heartbeat. Pat is dressed by his amazing wife Kym and three awesome teenagers.
Kym Keady is Pastoral Coordinator for Ignite Youth, and has been working in youth ministry for over 20 years. As a counsellor, author, youth worker, inspirational speaker, wife, and mum to 3 teenagers, she continues to draw on her passion to help young people realise their potential and worth. She is also the founder of Real talk, a sexuality program designed to help young people understand the value of sex and relationships.
Greg Shakhovskoy was appointed Moderator of Emmanuel Community in March 2015. He has a strong history of building community and ministry to young people, men and families over more than 30 years. He brings his experience and leadership principles from the business world to his ministry in the Church.
Luke is Coordinator of the Ignite Conference and has served as Youth Ministry Coordinator for Emmanuel Community for the past ten years. During this time he was instrumental in developing and overseeing the ministry of Emmanuel Youth Outreach (EYO), founding the Zero Gravity teenage summer camp and other events. He has been involved in youth ministry for 20 years, since he was a teenager. He is also the Administrator of Emmanuel Community and has served on the Archdiocese of Brisbane’s Commission for Ministry with Young People for 9 years.
Roby Curtis is the founder of Blind Eye Ministries where he works on the frontline in ministry to the homeless and indigenous. His work involves sharing his Catholic faith with those in homeless hostels and in remote Indigenous Communities. He is passionate about young Catholics embracing the poor in their locals communities and seeking to provide opportunities of Church and Christian Community for them. He is also a worship leader and songwriter with emmanuelworship. He is a husband and father of 5 children and his family play a fundamental role in his ministry involvements.
Sean McGrath is Director of emmanuelworship and Local Ministry Coordinator for NET Ministries Australia, where he has worked in youth ministry for 6 years. Married to Teresa, Sean brings a wealth of experience from around the world to his faith and ministry.
Renee has been involved in youth ministry for many years both in Australia and overseas. She spent over five years working with NET Ministries of Canada, where she served as the assistant program director. As the Irish coordinator, Renee was also involved with developing NET’s ministry to the youth in Ireland. As a life coach and personal trainer, Renee has a passion to see people living beyond their expectation and discovering their God given potential.
Justin Mourits is the Young Adults Coordinator for Ignite Youth, and is also the National Development Coordinator for the Young Men of God movement. Previously he has served with NET Ministries Australia for 4 years. He has 8 year experience in youth ministry in Australia and his home country of New Zealand. He is passionate about seeing young people become everything they can be.
Tash Mierendorf is one of the Young Adults Coordinators for Ignite Youth and heavily involved in resource development for the ministry. Tash has over 5 years of youth ministry experience, including volunteering and working for NET Ministries Australia. Married to Stephen and mother of baby Lucy, she is passionate about young adults being supported and nurtured in their Catholic faith.
Ronan has been involved in youth ministry and leadership development for twelve years. Over this time he has been involved in three organisations, Youth Impact, The Catholic Guy and GRIP Leadership. Ronan has played a key role in helping all of them grow significantly and increase in influence. Ronan is both passionate and experienced in evangelism, leadership development, and making faith and life enjoyable! He speaks to approximately 20,000 teenagers each year and lives with his wife and daughter in Perth, Western Australia.
Karl has been investing in youth formation and development for the last 15 years. Having worked in youth and young adult ministry and university campus ministry, he has also been part of the academic staff in the Theology and Philosophy faculty at the University of Notre Dame Australia, as well as the Catholic Institute of Western Australia at Edith Cowan University. A passionate communicator and storyteller, Karl is currently completing a Master of Theology by Research in the area of discipleship and spiritual formation. He lives with his wife and two cats in Perth, Western Australia.
Ryan Shelton is a member of the Ignite Youth Perth team and RE Coordinator at a Catholic High School.
